from £0.00

We’re thrilled to announce a special evening at Next Chapter Books: a live recording of The Rippling Pages podcast with host Liam Bishop, featuring acclaimed Swedish author Agnes Lidbeck.

Date: Friday 10th October
Time: 5.15pm – 6.30pm
Location: Next Chapter Books, Corn Exchange

Liam will sit down with Agnes to discuss her extraordinary debut novel Supporting Act, a sharp, compelling exploration of motherhood, identity, and the roles women are expected to play.

About Supporting Act

"The social contract is non-negotiable. The woman must be a mother. The woman must be desirable. The woman must be a caregiver."

When Anna becomes a mother, she surrenders her identity to fit the part society demands. But as her marriage falters and her children no longer need her, she is forced to search for a new role. An affair with an ageing writer offers her a temporary escape – but how long can she avoid facing the woman beneath the performance?

A taut, thought-provoking novel, Supporting Act is translated from Swedish by Nichola Smalley.
